All Visual & Performing Arts students have the opportunity to apply to an internship through the OUSD Exploring College, Career, and Community Opportunities (ECCCO) Program. This program allows students to have an authentic, paid experience at a local organization where that student learns valuable professional skills, builds their network, and is mentored by an industry expert. Alternatively, students can participate in a Peralta Colleges course of their choosing that will help them learn more difficult technical skills as well as earn college credit!
ECCCO Program Requirements
- Students are expected to participate in the summer between 11th/12th grade. Some rising 11th graders are also accepted.
- Students must be committed to working Full Time (5 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 5 weeks) or Part Time (negotiated with the internship site)
- Students must attend a weekly meeting with the VPA Internship Coordinator
Completion of the ECCCO program results in students earning a $1,000 cash stipend (or $1,500 scholarship to be applied to post-secondary education) and 10 Elective Credits!
