Host An Intern

Internship host sites have given positive feedback about hosting an VPA intern. Interns can be expected to take on responsibilities and projects that mutually benefit both the organization and the student.

The most rewarding part of the summer program was to see how the interns faced their fears and responded positively to the challenges and critiques each day.

The Process

  1. The host organization completes this form outlining the number of positions open, responsibilities, skills needed, location, time period during the summer, and other details.
  2. Workers insurance is handled by OUSD, and is not the responsibility of the organization.
  3. Students are usually paid by OUSD.
  4. Students begin looking for internships in February-March
  5. Students begin applying to positions by sending resumes and applications, and the host organization schedules interviews with students
  6. The host organization selects its interns, and students begin working according to the agreed upon date
