As of today, April 26, Peralta Community College District’s enrollment window is now open for all high school students! If you are interested in taking a concurrent enrollment class this summer or next fall, it’s time to select your class(es)! Here is a student-facing step-by-step guide for completing the enrollment process. There are also simplified directions and pertinent information below that may be easier to follow. Please note that the majority of Peralta’s summer and fall classes will be conducted virtually.
What is concurrent enrollment?
Concurrent Enrollment offers high school students the opportunity to take tuition-free, college-level courses through the Peralta Community College District while earning high school credit simultaneously, or concurrently. While students earn high school credit, they also earn college credit which is recorded on their transcript (this looks GREAT on your college applications)! Through this program, students are able to enroll in certain introductory-level Peralta courses. Some of the most popular Concurrent Enrollment classes that our students take include Spanish 1A, Intro to Psychology, and English 1A to name just a few.
Basic Steps to Applying to Peralta and Enrolling in a Concurrent Enrollment Course:
- Determine which class you’d like to take and notate the 6 digit section number. See summer and fall semester course catalogues here. If you need help determining which class to take, please reach out to Mr. Ohara directly to schedule an appointment.
- If you don’t already have an 8-digit Peralta student ID, apply to the Peralta campus you are planning to attend via the following link: Apply & Enroll– New and Former Students : Admissions & Records (be sure to apply to the campus that is offering the course you’d like to take).
- Complete the high school concurrent enrollment form and email it back to Mr. Ohara for approval.
- Await Mr. Ohara’s confirmation that all of your paperwork is complete and ready to be submitted. He will provide final steps at this point.
